The Marketing Equation

Right, let’s get this thing started shall we? Our very first post.

The last few weeks have been busy, very busy. Yes there’s been a bit of travel and plenty of meetings but in particular there’s been a a great deal of thinking done. There are never enough hours in the day and ‘thinking’ is a bit of luxury these days but a lot of thinking has gone into what needed to be done to get things off the ground.

A lot of things it transpires. Whether that is establishing the nuts and bolts of setting up a new business, the admin, finance, creating this site you see before you or talking to current and prospective clients.

Along with that I’ve been lucky enough to be able to chat to a few people in the wider marketing world and find out about their businesses. There are some wonderful people out there, doing great things and open to collaboration, you just need to go and find them and have a cuppa with them.

A key part of the process has been talking to my good friend and former KPMG colleague, Simon. Between us we’ve come up with a structure that allows us to talk our respective languages whilst being part of a team.

Simon’s language is PR & comms from a B2B perspective and he operates as The Content Equation. My languages (apart from some rusty GCSE German & French!) are marketing, PR & media from a B2C perspective The Marketing Equation.

We plan to collaborate together as The Equation to produce some great work for businesses looking to get involved in Content Marketing. There’s a whole site to launch on that combined proposition and much to talk about the content marketing subject. We’ll both be publishing news and views on that and more so stay tuned.

I’m also fortunate to be working with Rob Lawson of Round Robin who provides particular betting and gaming PR & comms specialism. Rob is another seasoned professional that I’ve known for many years and is a great chap to have in on any project.

In the meantime, it’s great to finally have the covers come off this and start to talk to clients and contacts in earnest about what we’re all about. So without further ado, welcome you to The Marketing Equation.

Please have a look around the site, get in touch and let me know what you think. You’re part of the Equation too…!
